Application for the Summer Residency

Foreign artists from every field of visual arts and without restriction of age can apply. However, students of German or foreign academies and universities are excluded.

Residency period: 6 to 8 weeks from June to August upon mutual agreement

Applications may be submitted in the period from 1 til 31 January 2012.
(relevant is the postmark)

Applications should include

• Completed application form
  
• CV (2 pages max.)
• Project proposal (1 page)
• 5 - 10 work samples from the last 3 years (prints, 18 x 24 cm max., labelled with name, title, medium, year)

and optionallly

• description of work samples (1 page max.)
  
• DVD (for performance/video/moving image, 10 min max. in total)

The jury is composed of a varying group of Kuenstlerhaus members.
Applications by e-mail cannot be considered.

Application for membership

A membership in the Kuenstlerhaus Dortmund includes a studio in the building and the willingness for volunteering to support the activities of the institution, e.g. the preparation, organization and supervision of exhibitions.
An application for a membership is possible at any time. In the case of no studio vacancy, it will be put on a waiting list until studio space will be available.
Membership includes optional use of all facilities of the house as there are a variety of technical and electronical tools, the wood workshop, a computer place for video cutting, a DSL flatrate etc. and insight and participation in our information and cooperation network.

Send your application with portfolio, documentation, cv, catalogues, CDs, slides, website, project sketches, etc. to (applications by e-mail cannot be considered):

Application for an exhibition participation

Exhibition programming for next year is started in summer this year. Applications, that are submitted by the end of July, will be considered.

Please note:
The Kuenstlerhaus is generally not doing solo exhibitions but conceptual group shows curated by Kuenstlerhaus members.
Applications that are not matching one of the exhibition concepts of the following year will be returned by mail only if you include a self-addressed, sufficiently stamped envelope. Otherwise the KH-team decides if they are kept in the archive.
